Just as important as nutrition or safety is our need for meaningful interactions. Especially for those in a memory care setting, having opportunities to stimulate our brains can lead to a host of health and emotional benefits. For this reason, our residents spend lots of time throughout the week doing various activities to stimulate the brain and stay social. We’re excited to announce that Seth Krogstad has joined our team to help our residents fulfill more of their cognitive needs and stay meaningfully engaged.
Seth is a seasoned Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and also a Certified Dementia Practitioner. He attended the University of Wisconsin La Crosse where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation specializing in geriatrics and activities that stimulate both the mind and body. Seth has 10 years of experience in life enrichment and over 7 years focusing on individuals with memory cognition needs.
Seth enjoys facilitating word games that challenge individuals on multiple skill levels to cater to everyone’s needs. He also enjoys leading his Sit and Stretch exercise program where he implements stretching and strengthening exercises catered to each resident’s abilities. Whatever the activity, Seth creatively adapts to the needs of the residents making it a more enriching experience for everyone.
Seth recently moved to Arizona from Chicago to assist his aging grandparents. He takes his mission to assist our senior population personally and strives to make changes to the status quo. He looks forward to getting to know each resident personally in order to make a positive impact on their quality of life.
We’re very excited for the experience that Seth brings to our community and have already seen great things happening for our residents!
